George The Therapy Horse © is a story about a horse who, after many happy and fulfilling years with a loving family, is retiring to become a therapy horse. George has a lot to learn about what a therapy horse does and especially about the people he will be meeting. He knows that a therapy horse helps people … but he has many surprises and many learning experiences about life along the journey in this new chapter of his life.
Each book in the series will address a specific issue. The current book list is as follows:
•
Book #1: George’s New Home - George starts his new life as a therapy horse

Currently with illustrator.
•
Book #2: George Meets Big Jon - Big Jon is a retired army horse. Big Jon and his friend Ittles teach George what it means to be a good friend.
•
Book #3: George Meets Jestin – A little boy in a wheelchair shows George that being happy is about who you are inside … not about your ‘outside’.
•
Book #4: George Sissy & Annie – When someone has hurt you.
It is my mission that the George The Therapy Horse books be used to support the emotional growth and wellness of children. This book series can be used in conjunction with traditional therapy as well as other forms of psychotherapy and counseling including, and especially, equine and animal therapy. When used in therapy or counseling, the facilitator has an opportunity to question the reader further as their personal issues are uncovered.
The ‘George’ books will also be offered to children in schools and bookstores with the same theme in mind, teaching and learning about life’s issues that are important to healthy emotional growth.
Children and the ‘young at heart’ will enjoy reading the adventures of George and discovering the specific issue at the core of the story. Each issue is handled gently, understanding the age and possible emotional state of the reader.
Overall, the story will be fun and exciting and sometimes will allow the reader to relate. It may open up an opportunity for the reader to share an issue with an adult that they may not have had the platform to address before. Our story lines are designed to promote awareness and a source of connectedness between the characters and the reader.
